Calling all artists who are ready to stretch their artmuscles with a different kind of challenge! Sign up with a date between now and March 10 and you will be assigned a mystery match: a short SPN or RPF fic (<4000 words) to create artwork for! You can make whatever you want: a story-banner, a scene illustration, an artist's impression; any visual your muse comes up with, in any artmedium.

In the spirit of quicky_bang the Matchmaker Challenge has a short turn-around to avoid procrastination;) There is a limited supply of stories, so first-come, first-served! Sign ups are open until March 10 or until all the stories have found a match, whichever comes first. (You won't receive an assignment until your start date; I will set aside stories in order of sign ups)

The time limit is not to force you to rush, but to poke you into action and avoid brooding too long on an idea. You can share your sketches, that's cool too! The purpose of this challenge is to stimulate your creativity.

You can choose between a one, a two or a three week option...
( Will you go for a speed date, a double date or a blind date? )

Busy right now? Plan ahead! If you are eager to go, you can sign up with today as your start date. But suppose you only have time in February, simply sign up for the end of January. You will receive your match on the date you pick, so that's when you can start arting:) Your requested timeframe will be stated in your mail.

Woohoo, the Matchmaker Challenge is going brilliantly; there are already marvelous artworks posted and more are on the way! *waves pompoms for all artists who are getting ready for their dates*

Y'all were so eager to join in, I've run out of threesomes for speeddates! But fear not: you still can go on a date with a short story author and make them some art!
Since the artists who signed up for trios are only allowed to pick one fic to play with, there will be more stories available at the end of the month. WHO WANTS ONE?

Here's how the second half of the Matchmaker Challenge works:
Sign up below to get a short surprise SPN or RPF fic (<5000 words) to create artwork for! Stories will be assigned in the first week of August and you'll get 3 weeks to art:) You can make whatever you want: a story-banner, a scene illustration, an artist's impression; any visual your muse comes up with, in any artmedium. You have two options; a double gives you a choice, a match offers a preference:

A DOUBLE DATE 1. Sign up with DOUBLE DATE 2. ADD your name + email; 3. Receive 2 random summaries in the first week of August*; 4. Pick one of those fics (only one!) within a day; 5. Contact the author; 6. Make art within THREE weeks!

AN IMMEDIATE MATCH 1. Sign up with I FEEL LUCKY 2. ADD your name + email; 3. Include whether you want RPF or SPN or either 4. Receive a fitting summary in the first week of August*; 5. Contact the author; 6. Make art within THREE weeks!

Make art within THREE weeks! *These fics may be from a different corner of fandom than you usually play in and could feature characters you're not familiar with, so you get an extra week for research.

Option B: a BLIND date 1. Sign up with BLIND DATE 2. ADD your name + email + a start date; 3. Include your squicks and prefered characters* 4. Receive a fitting surprise summary on that date; 5. Contact the author; 6. Make art within TWO weeks! *The shorter your wishlist, the better your chances! For example: Sam & Dean, no bloodplay ~OR~ Misha/Jensen, no porn ~OR~ no preference, but no kidfic please

To recap: a Speed Date gives you more time, but could be a step out of your comfortzone;
a Blind Date offers a better match but you'll have to art faster.
