Quicky_Bang

Wahey, another round of the quicky_bang done! A big fandom thank you to everyone who participated, I hope y'all had fun:) You are all rockstars, but I want to give a special shout out to dwimpala21 who did an smashing amount of banging this round. Massive kudos to all the authors that offered up their fanfics, your short stories were an inspiration to all of us:)

What's next...
I definitely plan to run another art challenge this year, but it probably won't be until after the Summer. A few people suggested a Reverse Quicky event; but with this being an artist community and because the actual ReverseBang already is open for short fic authors, I don't see the added value for fandom.

However! I have been brainstorming about offering a space for orphan artworks that were made and published as stand alones or for other events, but that never had a fic attached to it. I was thinking of creating a reverse version of the MatchMaker Challenge, so with blind dates for authors. The artworks wouldn't be published in the community, but rather handed out as a mystery option to authors of short fics who can sign up with their prefered pairings or characters of choice.
I would love to know if artists would be interested in putting those type of artworks up for adoption. (I know I have a few artworks I'd love to see a story for:)

To avoid procrastination you have to set yourself a deadline within a month after claiming, other than that there are no rules or check ins. Art for this round can be posted until the end of April!

Have you written a short SPN/RPF/GEN fic that you'd love to have fanart for? This is the place to submit it! It doesn't matter if the fic is old or new, as long as it is finished, has less than 4000 words and no accompanying art yet, you can offer it up. Comment with your name, contact email and a link to your fic. Include a short snippet or summary to entice an artist and describe visuals to seduce them:)

Then CONTACT the author privately to set up a timeline (so you have a date to work towards and they can cheer you on:) Make sure you share your expectations: What rating did you have in mind? Do you welcome input or rather keep the art a surprise until posting? Communicate just this once or keep in touch during the process; it's up to you.
After your definite claim you have a month to create Have fun!

Finished? Present your artwork in this community! (You don't have to wait a month if your muse works faster; you can post whenever you are done:) If you link to your personal artpost, be sure to at least include a story banner or teaser image here; this is an art-community, so we want to SEE at least a bit of it:) Whether you link to your artpost in your own journal or directly to the author's story is up to you. Ahw, another round of the quicky_bang comes to an end. I've only managed to lure in a few artists this time and will have to contemplate how to proceed with promotions in the next round. Despite reaching out on all platforms and retweets of big fandom accounts, it seems a lot of artists are hesitant to come over to LiveJournal to play. So all the kudos for the brave few who did get creative over here, go give them some love!
